Glenn "Hatch" Schmidt, age 77, peacefully passed away Wednesday, December 17, 2025. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio on December 6, 1948, to Rudolph and Mildred (nee Darrow) Schmidt. Hatch enjoyed golfing, bowling, playing cards, and going to casinos, playing the lottery daily and drinking beer. He loved pranking people and always joking with them. But most of all, Hatch loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Left to celebrate Hatch's life is his loving daughter, Heather (Billy); his cherished grandchildren, Jacob and Mackenzie; many extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Deborah, his parents, and brothers, Robert and Paul Schmidt.

The family will welcome visitors from 2pm to 5pm on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at Waite Funeral Home located at 3300 Center Road in Brunswick. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00am on Monday, December 22nd, at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Brooklyn Heights Cemetery.
