Obituary

Guillermo Mora Pérez, age 42, passed away on Friday, April 17th, 2020. Guillermo and his family recently moved from Alexandria, VA, to Medina, OH. He was diagnosed with Glioblastoma in January 2019 and fought for 15 months to survive this aggressive and unforgiving cancer. Tumor progression was recently discovered and within a week, and two days before his 43rd birthday, he died peacefully in his Medina home with his wife by his side.

Guillermo was born in Mexico City, Mexico to María Luisa Del Carmen Pérez Pérez and Fernando Mora Söhlé. He graduated from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, where he majored in Computer Engineering. After graduating, Guillermo moved to the U.S. and received a Master's Degree in Software Engineering at the University of Texas at Arlington. He moved to Northern VA and worked for Micron Technology for close to 11 years, forming lifelong friendships and meeting his future wife through flag football. He got married, started a family, became a U.S. citizen, and then worked for ServiceNow as a Senior Technical Consultant. He loved his job. Guillermo was a loving and caring father and husband. He was smart, kind, generous, and a good friend. Guillermo had a wonderfully unique sense of humor that left people remembering hilarious times spent with him. He always put friends and family before himself and was a very humble man. Guillermo enjoyed travel, film, running, biking, and dancing. He was proud of his family and loved spending time with his wife and two children.

Guillermo is survived by his wife Lindsay (Anderson), his two sons, Liam and Hugo, his mother Carmen, his siblings Fernando, Manuel (Norma), Antonio (Elizabeth), Elizabeth (Rafael) and his nieces and nephews. Guillermo is preceded in death by his father, Fernando.

This comes at a difficult time where COVID-19 disrupts the ability for us to formally come together and mourn, especially his family and friends from afar. When restrictions are lifted, Lindsay hopes to be able to spend time with you all to celebrate Guillermo's life together. In the meantime, please raise a glass today in honor of Memo and give a toast to an amazing and unforgettable friend.
