Obituary

Harold R. Bonsel, 70, of Medina, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Wednesday, December 24, 2025. Harold was born on February 25, 1955, in Germany, the son of the late James and Erika (Weber) Bonsel.

He was a lifelong resident of the area and a 1973 graduate of Brunswick High School. Harold was a mechanic his entire life and could practically fix anything. He worked for Owens Corning, where he hardly missed a day of work, and retired after 45 years of service. He enjoyed boating, fishing, skiing, bowling and golfing. He especially enjoyed cooking. He was known for his homemade sauerkraut that he would make once a year with his daughter that was enjoyed by friends and family. He was a devoted father, husband, and brother. His love for his family came first and foremost. His way of showing his love was through his acts of kindness.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, James Bonsel.

He is survived by his wife, Cindy (Tatter) Bonsel, with whom he shared 41 years of marriage; daughter, Nichole (Matthew) Williams; grandson; Landon Williams; sisters, Cynthia (Mark) Bright and Monika Helman; and numerous nieces and nephews.
