Harold (Harry) Kistler was reunited with his wife, Janet, in Heaven on February 2, 2026.

Harry was born on August 9, 1936, in Ottawa, Ohio and was 89 years old.

He passed away peacefully while living at an assisted living facility, Broadway Creek Senior Living.

Harry is survived by his 3 children, Cheryl Walchli (Scott), Chippewa Lake, Beth Kistler Olds (Warren), Johnstown, Bruce Kistler (Julie), North Ridgeville, and 3 grandchildren, Kailey Kistler (James), Brianne Kistler (Jacob) and Austin Kistler (Liz). He is also survived by his sister, Mary Anne Langhals, Glandorf, Ohio.

Harry is preceded in death by his wife Janet (Gerding), mother and father, Agnes and Linus Kistler, his sister, Roselia Osterhage, and brothers: Joseph, Raymond, Frank, Fr. Leonard and Charles Kistler.

Harry grew up in Ottawa, Ohio, and attended Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic School. He met his wife, Janet, there in second grade and went on to marry her on August 25, 1956. He had a long-standing career in the insurance industry and retired with his wife in The Villages Florida for eleven years. There he enjoyed spending time with his wife and friends. He also enjoyed playing softball, pickleball, tennis and golf. Harry accompanied his wife on cruises and trips to Hawaii. He will be missed deeply by all.

A memorial service and burial will be held at 1 PM May 8, 2026, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church located at 307 N Locust St., Ottawa Ohio 45875.
