Helen "Jackie" Smith, age 85, passed away on November 8, 2024. She was born on April 26, 1939, to the late William and Bertha Barker. Helen is survived by her beloved children Teresa Burrell (Keven Moermond), Gene Smith (Norma); treasured grandchildren Elliott Burrell, Dustin Smith (Lauren), Madison Smith, and great-granddaughter Amelia Smith; dear siblings Franklin Barker, Betty Middleton (Carmel), Terri Barker (Carol), John Barker (Monica), Roger Barker (Carolyn), and Larry Barker (Antonella).

Helen is preceded in death by her dear husband, Joseph; her grandson, Benjamin Burrell; and siblings, Bill, Tom, Gayle, and Jim Barker.

Helen proudly worked for 27 years as a cook for the Oberlin School District. She was an avid reader in her free time. Helen was known both as a woman of prayer and student of the bible. She taught Sunday school and women's bible studies. Helen will be dearly missed by all.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 23, 2024, from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the East Oberlin Community Church, 43709 Oberlin Elyria Road, Oberlin, OH 44074 with a Memorial Service immediately following at 12:00 PM.
