Henry Robert Pfeiffer, 82, passed away Friday, August 4, 2017. He was born to the late Harold and Dorothy (Henes) Pfeiffer on November 21, 1934 in Grafton Township, Ohio. Henry proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He served on the USS Okanogan as a Navy Corpsman medic. Later he made his living as a truck driver for Chapin Trucking and the Railroad. Henry was diverse in his interests. He had a deep love of nature and the outdoors and enjoyed activities like archery, hunting and fishing. He was a sports fan; in particular the Indians and the Browns but then he also enjoyed cooking, reading and time with his dogs. Still Henry found time to volunteer as a youth sports coach. Above all he loved and cherished his family.
Henry is survived by his wife of 44 years, Lois (Chaykowski); children Dona (Tim) Sellman, Cynthia (Rick) Voigt, Hal (Melissa) Pfeiffer, grandchildren; Alannah, Andrew, Kyle, and Ryan; brother Richard (Carol) Pfeiffer; sister Shirley Brunner as well as many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Dr. Patel and the staff at Southwest Hospice. As well as Fr. Dunphy and the St. Martin of Tours Church community.
The family will receive friends and family on Monday, August 7, 2017 from 5-8 at Waite and Son Funeral Home 765 N. Court St. Medina, Oh 44256. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, August 8, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Martin of Tours located at 1800 Station Rd. Valley City, Ohio 44280.
