Obituary

Hilda Durr, 86, of Brunswick, Ohio passed away peacefully on July 25, 2020 in Akron, Ohio. She was born on June 21, 1934 in Dux, Czechoslovakia to the late Ruppert and Kreszenia (nee Koppl) Pschida.  Hilda grew up in Germany and married her husband Gunther. Together, they embarked on the American dream. Over the years, she managed two apartment buildings and worked in a yarn factory. She faithfully volunteered for many years at St. John's Church and School in Cleveland, Ohio. Her enjoyment and thrills in life occurred during her extensive traveling with her husband and close friends. Those who miss her most, will remember her knitting projects, baking skills, and her lovely ability to transform her yard into a beautiful landscape.  Most importantly, Hilda was a consummate example of selfless love and will be remembered for her generous spirit and willingness to help others. Beloved wife of Gunther Durr of 64 years; loving mother of Karen (Rich) Profancik and Fred (Terri) Durr; cherished grandmother of Michael Durr and Alex and Garret Profancik; dear sister of Maria Pschida (deceased). A celebration of life to honor Hildegard will be held at a later date. Please be with us in prayer and reflection. Contributions may be made in her memory to Cleveland Clinic Hospice Care Center, 3358 Ridgewood Rd, Akron, OH 44333. The family extends their gratitude for the love and care shown to Hilda by the staff at hospice. Online condolences and memories may be left on Hildegard's guestbook at www.waitefuneralhome.com
