James M. Bailey, Sr. "Mick", age 75, of Medina, passed away Tuesday, September 23, 2014. Jim was born November 28, 1938 in Lanark, WV to the late Joy and Madelyn (Kennedy) Bailey. He worked at the Ford Motor Company for 37 years and retired in 1997. Jim was a member of the Bigelow Masonic Lodge #243 of Cleveland, OH. He enjoyed bowling and belonged to many different leagues. Jim honorably served his country in the U.S. Army.

He is survived by his wife Shirley (Thomson), to whom he was married 52 years; son James M. Bailey, Jr., and daughter Deborah K. (Larry) Confer; grandchildren Chris Hastings, James M. Bailey, III, Briana Confer and David Confer; great-grandchildren Deklan and Rebecca. Jim was also an uncle to many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his brothers J. Robert Bailey and Gary Bailey; sisters Sharon Chaya, Cindy Cepin and Sue Skerl.

Services will be held Monday, September 29, 11:00 a.m., at Lafayette United Methodist Church, 6201 Lafayette Rd, Medina, OH, with Pastor Brian Amstutz officiating. Family will receive friends Sunday from 2-5:00 p.m. at Waite and Son Funeral Home, 765 N. Court St., Medina, OH. Burial with military honors will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery on Wednesday, October 1 at 1:00 p.m.
