James P. Ford, 57, passed away Friday, May 24, 2024. He was born August 15, 1966, in Cleveland, Ohio, to James A. Ford and Mary Pat Mach. Jim was a talented businessman who worked most recently in corporate procurement for Huntington Bank. His professional career took his family overseas to London, England and Singapore, allowing them to experience unique cultures and adventures together all over the world. He demonstrated resilient leadership in the business world, making tough decisions and stepping up in challenging times. Jim always sought to understand the personal side of the people around him, often celebrating other's milestones and achievements before his own.
Jim had a deep connection to guitars, from collecting and making them to performing with his band, 'First Offenders.' He loved jamming to rock bands like Led Zeppelin and Rush. His woodworking skills were exceptional, crafting not only guitars but also beautiful cutting boards and cheese boards. His love for woodworking seamlessly blended with his culinary skills, as he could make a gourmet meal from whatever ingredients were at hand, always arriving at family gatherings with an incredible dish.
Jim was also a dedicated baseball coach, guiding his sons from little league to more advanced levels. In 2012, he served as the head coach for Team Great Britain in the Junior League World Series, a role he cherished and excelled in. Jim found immense pleasure in being a mentor to other musicians and young athletes, sharing his love for music and sports.
Above all, Jim loved spending time at home with his family, especially when they were watching the Cleveland Indians/Guardians together. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Left to celebrate Jim's life is his beloved wife, Tonya Ford; his loving children, Brian P. Ford and Brendan J. Ford; his siblings, Cheryl (Michael) Treb, Tracie Jablonowski, Matthew (Tracie) Ford, and Maureen Dabbieri; mother, Mary Pat Mach; step-mom, Karen Ford; his grand dog, Peaches; and many extended family and friends.
