Obituary

James W. Hawke, 99, of Brunswick, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family.  He was born June 6, 1925, in Columbia Station, OH to the late Frederick and Rachel (nee Rundle) Hawke.  Jim proudly served his country during WWII in the United States Marine Corp.  He worked as an Operating Engineer for 65 years, which includes his time at Advanced Asphalt for 30+ years. James was a lifetime member of the Valley City VFW, a Golden Eagle at Medina Eagles Aeries #2224, and a longtime member of the Moose Lodge.  He enjoyed boating, fishing, Bingo, and most of all playing cards with his family.

James is survived by his children Dennis Hawke and Connie Betz, grandchildren Jamie Jonscher(Mark) & Erin Brown(Nick), great grandchildren Jaxon & Tristan Jonscher, Lydia & Carter Brown, and Evan & Chloe Chase.  He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Dorothy in 2007 and granddaughter Brandy Elliott.

A graveside service with military honors will be held at 10:45am ( please meet there at 10:30am ) on Friday, November 15, 2024 , at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Rd. in Seville, OH.

A Celebration of Jim's life will be held from 2-5pm on Saturday, November 16, 2024 , at the Fraternal Order of Eagles (South Hall) located at 696 Lafayette Rd., Medina, OH.
