James M. "Jay" Reed III, 86, of Brunswick, Ohio, passed away on December 7, 2024. Born on December 10, 1937, in Patterson, NJ, he was the son of the late James M. and Edith (Devore) Reed II.

Jay married the love of his life, Emma Butcher, in 1961, and together shared 63 wonderful years of marriage. Jay was a devoted and loving husband, a cherished uncle to his niece Lynne (John) Zastawnik, and a caring cousin to Pastor John E. Godby. He leaves behind many cherished cousins and friends who will miss him deeply. Jay was preceded in death by his beloved parents and his dear sister, Evelyn (Bob) MacGoogan.

Jay enjoyed various sports, especially golf and softball, and he also enjoyed the companionship of his cats. Above all, Jay will be remembered as a wonderful husband whose love and dedication to his beloved Emma never wavered.
