Janice "Jan" Aileen (Mullen) Colson, age 88, passed away peacefully in Medina, Ohio on May 15, 2025. She was born on January 25, 1937, to the late Edward and Lela (Harris) Mullen in Delphos, Ohio. Jan married the love of her life, Ken Colson in 1956, they had 53 wonderful years together before his passing in 2009. She was an avid bowler and also loved playing Bingo. Jan was known as the family card shark and loved a competitive game of almost anything at any time. She also loved flowers, especially peonies and lilacs. Ken used to surprise her regularly with large bouquets of them to her delight. A loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and dear friend, she will be missed by all.
Jan is survived by her five children, Rhonda Seeley, Holly (Greg) Fawcett, James Colson, Kathy (Thomas) Carmack, and Adele (Keith) Edwards; her five grandchildren, Beth, Kristy, Amanda, Sarah, and Alison; her four great grandchildren, Jayden, Brianne, Jim and Shannon; and many dear friends.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 53 years, Ken Colson; her parents, Edward and Lela (Harris) Mullen; her five siblings, Delilah Hannan, Minnie Bougher, William Mullen, Mary Placke, and Lula Rigdon.
A Celebration of Jan's Life will be held at her son, Jim's home, 588 Wadsworth Road, Medina, Ohio 44256 on July 19, 2025, starting at 4:00 p.m.
The family will hold a graveside service at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Seville, Ohio where Jan will be laid to rest along with her beloved husband Ken on July 21, 2025, at 2:45 p.m. Please meet at the funeral home at 1:45 p.m. to join the procession to the cemetery.
