Janice (Jan) Leatherman, age 85, of Medina, Ohio, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2025. She was born to Wesley and Virginia (nee Eft) Kindig on February 8, 1939, in Lodi, Ohio.

Jan was a world traveler, an avid reader, lifelong learner and supporter of the arts. She enjoyed hiking and nature photography with her husband before his passing. After her retirement from Medina City Schools as Director of Reading Instruction, she spent many hours volunteering with the Friends of Medina County District Library (MCDL) and the Friends of Medina County Parks, playing bridge and meeting retired teacher friends for lunch. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family at their beloved Camp Lloyd.

Janice is survived by brothers, Dan (Edna) Kindig, Eric Kindig, and Robert Kindig; nieces, Kris (Kindig) Cunningham (Mike), Moira Kindig (Brian Watson), Liza Kindig, Mandy Kindig, and Catie (Kindig) Han (Joe); 11 great nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald E. Leatherman; sisters-in-law, Carol Kindig and Tess Kindig; and many dear aunts and uncles.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate Jan's life on Sunday, April 13, 2025, at 2:00p.m. at the Medina Co. Parks Krabill Lodge located at 7597 Ballash Road, Medina Ohio.
