Obituary

Jeff passed away suddenly in his sleep at his home in Copley, OH in the early morning hours of February 24, 2015.

Jeff was born in Morenci, MI on August 6, 1966 to Sharon (Coopshaw) Huffman-Cook and the late Dennis Huffman. Jeff was the oldest of Sherry and Denny's three children.

Jeff spent his entire youth in and around Fayette, OH attending Zone Elementary and Gorham-Fayette High School. Jeff then attended the University of Toledo where he wrote for the campus newspaper, The Collegian, and completed his Bachelor's degree. Jeff's time at UT did not end upon graduation. He worked in UT's Sports Information department for many years before moving to the Development Office. Jeff's career then took him and his family to the Akron area where he worked in the insurance industry for State Farm and AAA.

Everyone who knew Jeff knew two things: Jeff was an amazing and dedicated father to his four children and he was an ardent Toledo Rockets fan, staying true to the Midnight Blue and Gold even after his move to Akron. Jeff touched so many lives during his time at UT (actually throughout his life) evidenced by his children starting a game of counting how many people said "Hi" to their dad whenever they would attend a UT event. By the way, the record was 165.

Jeff was huge music and sports lover, enjoyed grilling out, and was extremely proud of his cruise ship trivia competition championship. Jeff had huge heart, a wonderful personality, a great sense of humor and will be missed immensely by his family and friends.

Jeff was preceded in death by his father and his grandparents Michael Coopshaw, Robert Huffman, Erma (Deitsch) Moore, and Richard Moore.

Jeff is survived by his children Zachary, Alexander, Kaylee and Paige, his mother Sharon (Ed Cook), his brother Jamie (Kimberly) Huffman, his sister Jodi (Tom) Ordway, his Grandmother, Marcella (Engler) Coopshaw, nieces Morgan, Kayla, Taylor, Madison and Sydney, nephews Jared and Zachary and a multitude of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to the Ronald McDonald House of Ann Arbor at rmh-annarbor.org and the Fulton County (Ohio) Special Olympics, 1210 North Ottokee Street Wauseon, OH, 43567

Visitation for Jeff's family and friends will be on Friday from 4-8 p.m. at Waite and Son Funeral Home, 765 N. Court St., Medina. A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 28, 2015 at 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment at Litchfield Cemetery will be private.
