Obituary

Jerry Lee Gill, Sr., 74 of Spencer Ohio passed away on October 18, 2024, at the Hospice of the Western Reserve, Medina OH, surrounded by his family after battling a long illness.

Jerry was born on September 8th, 1950, in Charleston, WVa. the son of Otha and Chatta (nee Hamrick) Gill.

Jerry graduated from Clay High School in 1968 and relocated to Lorain, Ohio where he began a long career as a Journeyman Electrician with the Ford Motor Company in Lorain, OH and later retiring from the Avon Lake Plant after more than 50 years of dedicated service.  Jerry was an avid golfer, loved traveling, and NASCAR.  Jerry was a fine craftsman and after retirement, concentrated on his love for woodworking.

Jerry married his "Jewel", Connie Lynn Gill in July of 2005 in one of their favorite vacation spots, Las Vegas, Nevada by witness of family and friends.  They were married for 17 years, spending time traveling, entertaining and enjoyed gathering family for holidays and special occasions.

Jerry is survived by his children Bryan (Natalie) Gill of Grafton, Michael Gill of Davis, WVa., Meranda Millis of Norwalk, Melissa (Joe) Striker of Amherst; grandchildren Austin Gill of Elyria, Kylee Gill of Lorain, A1C Maxwell Sykuta of Langley AFB, Va. Kellen Sykuta of Grafton, Cpt. Avery (Tiffany) Millis of Ft. Carson. Co., Colten (Kirsten) Millis of Norwalk, Abby Millis of Norwalk, Gillian Striker of Amherst and Marin Striker of Amherst; great grandson Beau Millis of Colorado; brothers Albert Gill of Harrison W.Va, Randall Gill of Harrison W.Va., Toby Gill of Harrison, W.Va., Randy (Jennifer) Hall of Widenridge W.Va., Ronnie (Melissa) Hall of Virginia; sisters Tina (John) Duffield of Greenwich, Cindy Patosnick of Birch River, W.Va., Debbie (Roy) McKinney of Clay, W.Va, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Preceding Jerry in death are spouse of 17 years, Connie Lynn Gill (nee Hall); son Jerry Lee (Jake) Gill; brothers Christopher Patosnick, Stephen Gill, Larry Hall; sister Carol Weekley; and parents Otha and Chatta Gill.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 21, 2024, from 4-6pm with a funeral service at 6pm, at Waite Funeral Home. A Visitation will also be held on Wednesday October 23, 2024, at Wilson Smith Funeral Home in Clay, WV at 12:00 to 2:00 for friends and family, and then a graveside service will be held at 3:00 at the Wood Keener Cemetery in Birch River, W.Va.
