Jerry Thomas Wright, of Wadsworth, passed away peacefully at 83 surrounded by his family on Tuesday, July 7, 2026. He was born in Akron, Ohio October 7, 1942 to the late Ethel May Ohler (nee Hughey) and Fortain Thomas Wright.

Jerry served our country in the Army as a Military Policeman, served veterans and handicapped as an STNA for over 25 years and was a devoted follower of Christ.

His genuine empathy and ceaselessly kind and giving nature will be missed by all who had the blessing of crossing paths with him, even if only briefly.

The family would like to thank Altercare of Wadsworth and Absolute Hospice for their care, compassion and genuine love that they shared for our father.

“May you continue to inspire us:

To enter each day with a generous heart.

To serve the call of courage and love

Until we see your beautiful face again

In that land where there is no more separation,

Where all tears will be wiped from our mind,

And where we will never lose you again.”

-John O’ Donohue

He will be laid to rest with military honors at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville, Ohio.
