Joan D. Cieslak, age 89 of Brunswick, passed away July 8, 2024. She was born on June 10, 1935, in Cleveland to the late Ray G. and Clara A. (nee Kurka) Huff. Joan enjoyed reading and attending various social and lunch engagements.  She was a HUGE Cleveland sports fan-especially the Guardians and Browns.  Above all, she cherished her time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Joan is survived by her loving daughters Karen (Lowell) Sims  and Kim (Paul) Taraba ; cherished grandchildren Aaron Sims, Shawn Sims, Justin (Emily) Sims , Melissa (Matt) Clark, Ashley Fritz (Joe) and Dean Taraba; great grandchildren Madison (Thomas) Malinich, Autumn, Emma, Wyatt, Audrey, Heidi, Harley, McCoy, Brooks and Eden; and her sister Louise Hrabak-Svoboda.  She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 64 years, Bernard K. Cieslak, in 2021.

The family will receive friends from 2-5:00 pm, Sunday, July 14, 2024, at Waite & Son Funeral Home, 3300 Center Rd., Brunswick, OH 44212.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 am, Monday, July 15, 2024, at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 929 Pearl Rd., Brunswick, OH 44212.

A private graveside interment will be held at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville where she will be laid to rest with her husband, Bernard.
