Joan Evelyn Ritcher (nee Moir), age 91, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 30, 2025. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio, to Alexander and LaVerne Moir.

Joan met the love of her life, Robert, with whom she shared a devoted marriage and raised three children: Bobby, Jim, and Laurie. Family was always at the center of Joan's world, and she took great joy in nurturing the people she loved.

She dedicated many years to serving her community as an elementary school teacher, retiring from Hinckley Elementary School after more than 20 years of caring and committed service. Joan was active in the PTA, enjoyed golfing with friends, and treasured the many social gatherings shared with family and dear friends.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Jim (Harriett) Ritcher and Laurie (Andrew) Schreiber; her grandchildren John, Lindsay, Bobbi, Harrison, and Nicholas; and her great-grandchildren James, Sophia, Jack, Evie, Riley Jack, Betsy, Poppy, Kay, Samuel, and Virginia Lee. and her brother, Dennis (Kathy) Moir.

Joan was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 44 years, Robert, and her son Bobby.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, December 4, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., with the funeral service immediately following at 11:00 a.m., at Waite Funeral Home, 765 N. Court St., Medina, OH 44256. Joan will be laid to rest with her husband and son in Maple Hill Cemetery, Hinckley, OH.

Her warmth, kindness, and unwavering love for her family will be forever remembered.
