John C.
Andreae, Jr.
November 24, 1954 – January 28, 2026
John Charles Andreae Jr., 71, of Seville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2026, succumbing to a short battle with kidney failure. Born on November 24, 1954, in Wichita, Kansas, he was the beloved son of the late John Charles (J.C.) and Betty Sue (nee House) Andreae.
A graduate of North Olmsted High School, he went on to attend The Ohio State University, where he studied to become a park ranger, reflecting his lifelong love of the outdoors. On September 15, 1978, he married the love of his life, Georgia (nee Niles), with whom he had a lasting and loving partnership of nearly 50 years. Together, they built a beautiful home in Seville on nine acres of land that became their sanctuary—where John loved to hunt, explore, and later take his grandson Caleb for walks in the woods.
John enjoyed a successful career in sales before co-founding Die Guys, a steel rule die manufacturing company in Medina, in 2000. He retired in 2018 after years of dedication to his employees and his customers alike. He leaves behind a reputation for hard work, humor, and loyalty.
John is survived by his devoted wife Georgia; daughters Jessica Bennett and son-in-law Doug, and Lauren Shaw and son-in-law Chris, and his grandson Caleb; sister Gayla Andreae-Pate and brother-in-law Gene Pate; and numerous and cherished extended family in Arkansas, Ohio, and beyond. He also leaves behind his beloved puppies Lucy and Ellie.
Following cremation, a celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, February 21, with visitation beginning at noon, a time for sharing at 2 p.m., and refreshments to follow in the community room, at Waite Funeral Home 765 N Court St, Medina, OH 44256. The family asks that you bring a favorite story or memory to share of John at this celebration.
As John was extremely grateful to the team at University Hospitals for their dedication to his health, in lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in his honor to the UH Transplant Institute https://fundraise.uhgiving.org/fundraiser/6949177 .
