John G. Dutkofski, 83, of Brunswick, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2026 surrounded by family.
Born on April 5, 1942, in Cleveland, Ohio, John was the beloved son of John and Ann (Koper) Dutkofski. He is survived by his sister Deborah Thornsberry (husband Daniel Thornsberry) of Strongsville, his son Jeffery (wife Donna Dutkofski) of Fort Worth, TX. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 34 years, Rose Ann.
John was a machinist with General Motors for 36 years and served in the Marine Reserves. More importantly, he was a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend. He was loving, kind, considerate, and thoughtful. To say that boating and fishing were his hobbies is an understatement. He loved to spend time out on the water with family and friends. He will be most remembered for his love of family.
John was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church where he also served faithfully as an usher. His faith and love of God were paramount.
Visitation will be held from 3-7 pm, Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at Waite Funeral Home, 3300 Center Rd., Brunswick.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am, Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at St. Ambrose Parish, 929 Pearl Rd., Brunswick. Interment will follow at Hope Memorial Gardens, Hinckley.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Fishing for Good Foundation which provides fishing trips and support for Veterans, Active Military and First Responders. Donations can be made at https://www.fishingforgood.org/pleasedonate .
May he now rest in eternal peace, reunited with his adoring wife Rose Ann, and may memories of John be a blessing and a comfort to all who knew, loved, and shared life with him.
