John Raymond Fetherolf, 86 years old, of Chippewa Lake, Ohio, passed away on April 5, 2026. He was born on February 6, 1940 in Wadsworth, Ohio to the late John Wesley and Ruth Fern (Connor) Fetherolf.

John was a 1958 graduate of Lodi High School.  He stayed in touch with his tight knit high school classmates with regular outings until most recent years.  John grew up in the Lodi area on a family farm.  He enjoyed telling stories of working on the farm and raising animals with his beloved grandpa.  After graduation, John joined the US Army Reserves where he would serve the country for 8 years as a reservist in the US Army Infantry.  While in the Army Reserves, John cooked for the officers' mess, and this turned into a live long passion of cooking for others.  Johns hard work ethic was developed at a young age, and he eventually became an entrepreneur owning such businesses as the Hob Nob restaurant in Lodi, a trucking company, custom home builder, and finally a custom millwork company, Bent Nail Architectural Millwork in Lodi.  The millwork company is now owned and operated by his son, David.

When John was not working, he enjoyed fishing trips to Mexico with his son and friends.  He also liked hunting on his father's family farm in Hocking Hills, often traveling from several states away to make the annual trip with his father and his own kids.  But mostly John liked entertaining family and friends at home, cooking big meals for the family and enjoying the company.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Maryann Martha (Fark) Fetherolf; children David Fetherolf (Jill) and Teri Fetherolf Bailey (Doug Poe); grandchildren Jake Fetherolf (Shannon), Sydnie Fetherolf, Nicholas Bailey and Natalie Bailey; and his great grandchildren Beau, Vivienne and Deliliah Fetherolf.

A Memorial Service and entombment will be held at 11:30 am on Friday, April 24, 2026, at Poe Cemetery, 3780 Poe Rd, Medina, OH 44256.  A reception will follow at the Montville Township Administration Building's Community Room, 6665 Wadsworth Rd (across the street), Medina, OH 44256.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Western Reserve, 5075 Windfall Rd., Medina, OH 44256.
