Obituary

John B. "Jack" Coyne, Jr., age 80, peacefully passed away January 1, 2026. He was born March 29, 1945, in Bangor, Maine to John and Eleanor (nee Beck) Coyne, Sr. Jack served his country in the United States Marine Corps in the Vietnam War. He went on to work as a machine repair machinist at GM for 43 years, where he served as a past president of the UAW Local 1005. Jack also volunteered as a fireman for 20 years for the Medina Township Fire Department. He was a longtime member of the Medina VFW Post 5137, the Marine Corps League 569, the Vietnam Veterans of America and the American Legion Post 202. Jack enjoyed going camping, spending winters in the south and riding his Harley to the INDY 500 for many years, camping in the infield. Jack will be missed by all who knew him.

Left to celebrate Jack's life is his beloved wife of 55 years, Patricia; his loving children, Ronald A. (Amy) Coyne and John B. (Ryan) Coyne, III; his cherished grandchild, Alex M. Coyne; his sisters, Bridget (Dennis) Martin, and Mary Goldstein; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Jack is preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Patricia Seiberling; and his brothers, Thomas, Patrick and Terrence Coyne.

Family will welcome visitors from 3pm to 7pm on Monday, January 5, 2026, with a Military Remembrance being held at 6:30 at Waite Funeral Home located at 3300 Center Road in Brunswick, Ohio. Burial with military honors will be held at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations be made in Jack's honor to the Medina Marine Corps League or Medina VFW Post 5137 both located at 3916 Pearl Rd., Medina, OH 44256.
