John Ray Marks, age 74, passed away on February  8, 2025 in  Wooster, Ohio.  He was born on December 13, 1950, in Zanesville, Ohio to the late Walter and Mabel (Polling) Marks. John made a living as an owner/operator of his own semi-truck.  He was a hardworking, family man and loved the outdoors. John had many interests; he loved to spend time on Lake Erie fishing at every opportunity that he could. He also loved riding motorcycles and tinkering with his bike.  John was a bit of a card shark and was always up for a game of cards but above all else, he loved spending time with his grandkids.  A loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend, he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

John is survived by his devoted wife of 42 years, Connie Faye (Shaw) Marks; his loving children, Jessica (Jason) Gabriel, Amber (Nick) Pittman, and Terry Marks; his beloved grandkids, , Kailah Gabriel, Noah Brown, Austin Gabriel, Greysen Pittman, Paisley Gabriel, Ryan Marks, Brittany Stornetta, Lindsey Stornetta and; several great grandchildren; and siblings, Barb Bush, Erma Simnns, Mae Sturms, and Bill Marks; and many dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his In-Laws, Gerald and Iona Shaw; his daughter, Kelly Marks; his son, Tracy Marks; his parents, Walter and Mabel (Polling) Marks; his sister, Connie McCartney; and his brother, Buck Marks.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 22, 2025, from 10:00 to 12:00 pm at Waite Funeral Home, 765 N Court Street, Medina, OH 44256.  Interment to take place at Reed Hill Cemetery, Granger, OH.
