It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father, John Oliver "Jack" Leising, who passed away on November 28, 2024, at the age of 94 in Medina, OH. Jack was born on January 31, 1930, in Akron, OH to Harvey and Clella (Motter) Leising. After graduating from High School, he joined the Air Force and married Ruth Isabelle Bickel and moved to Avon Lake, OH to raise a family and then later retired to West Salem, OH.

He was a dedicated and loving husband to his wife of 66 years, Ruth Isabelle (Bickel) Leising and a devoted father of five. Jack lived a fulfilling life and was a man of many talents. He had a passion for sailing, camping, boat building, and carpentry.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Isabelle (Bickel) Leising and his parents.

Jack is survived by his daughters, Jane Leising, Joyce Baker, Jeannette Pado, Cathy Kennedy; and son, James Leising; five grandchildren; Rebecca, Lisa, Rochelle, Brittney, Joseph; and eight great-grandchildren, who all will miss him dearly.

The family will receive friends on Friday, December 6, 2024, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Waite Funeral Home, 765 N Court Street, Medina, OH 44256.

A private funeral service will be held and then Jack will be laid to rest with his wife, Ruth and his mother, Clella at Elmhurst Park Cemetery in Avon, OH.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Jack's memory can be made to either: Veterans of Foreign Wars or The American Cancer Society.

Rest in peace, dear father. You will forever be in our hearts and memories.
