John L. Parey, age 67, passed away Monday, October 21, 2024. He was born April 14, 1957, in Cleveland, Ohio to Stephen and Veronica (nee Bartok) Parey. John worked in Manufacturing and Industrial sales. He was with Safety Kleen for 17 years where he met his bride, Sharon, and were married for 33 years. He was a lifetime member of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church in Cleveland, and a long-time member of St. Ambrose where he served in the Knights of Columbus. John served meals at St. Augustine's during the holidays for 30+ years. He and Sharon continuously were creating in the kitchen, making everything from paprikash to homemade salsa. John was a caring man and will be missed by all who knew him.

Left to celebrate John's life is his beloved wife, Sharon (nee Coffman); his loving daughter's, Angeleah Parey and Cali Ann Parey (Zavier); his siblings, Veronica Burkhalter, Stevie Parey, Joey Parey (Maryann-dec), Betsy (Gene) Andrews, and Annie (Bill) Szappanos; and his numerous nieces, nephews, godchildren, extended family and friends; and his little fur-buddy, Bosley. John is preceded in death by his sister, Kati Parey and his parents.

The family will welcome friends from 3:00pm to 7:00pm on Thursday, October 31, 2024, at Waite Funeral Home located at 3300 Center Road in Brunswick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, November 1, 2024, at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 929 Pearl Rd in Brunswick at 10:30am, with 1-hour prior visitation.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in John's honor to St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church, 9016 Buckeye Rd, Cleveland, OH 44104.
