John Raymond Yasenchak, age 90, passed away July 8, 2024. He was born March 26, 1934, in Barton, Ohio, to the late Michael and Katherine (nee Koval) Yasenchak.
John worked as a machinist for General Motors, retiring in 1988 after 35 years of dedicated service. He was a member of UAW 1005. He enjoyed treasure hunting, walking, gardening, and eating sweets. He was a longtime member of St. Mary's Byzantine Church.
John's memory will be cherished by his wife of 67 years, Dorothy (nee Harvilla); children, Donna (Tim), Michael (Chris), and David (Lisa); grandchildren, Branden, Kevin, Nathan, Scott, and Billy; great-grandchildren, Gabby, Lily, Sienna, Nathan Jr., Nick, and Jimmy; twin sister, Mary Ellen; and godchild, Dottie. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by great-grandchild, Nyko; and sister, Evelyn.
The family will welcome guests from 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at Waite Funeral Home, 3300 Center Road, Brunswick. A Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 am on Friday, July 12, 2024, at St. Emilian Byzantine Catholic Church, 1231 Substation Road, Brunswick. He will be laid to rest at Maple Hill Cemetery in Hinckley.
