Joseph Willard Lyon, II, age 84, passed away on August 17, 2025.

Joe was born in Cleveland, Ohio, to Joseph and Mary Margaret Lyon, and was one of five children. After high school, he married the love of his life, Barbara, and together they started their family while he attended trade school to become an electrician. He worked proudly as an electrician with IBEW Local 38 for 36 years before retiring.

Joe enjoyed being part of the Electricians' Golf League, traveling and camping with his family, and especially going on many cruises with Barbara. Among his favorite pastimes was taking his grandchildren on the Medina County Nature Walks, where countless memories were made. Joe was a lifelong learner with a true thirst for knowledge.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Joseph III; siblings, Frederick (Adrienne) Lyon, Jeanne Lyon, and Barbara Ballantine; and grandchildren Mary and Justina.

Left to cherish his memory are his devoted wife of 60 years, Barbara; children, Matthew Lyon, Ralph Lyon, Suzanne (Scott) Morabito, Jennifer Lyon (Brian Wagner), and Michelle (Brad) Harrison; 17 grandchildren, Bryan, Mikey, Skye, Joey, Cassie, Shaina, Wynter, Ever, Hailey, Libby, Kisten, Carmen, Dakota, Max, and Sammy; 10 great-grandchildren; and his brother, Douglas (Gretchen) Lyon.

Family will receive friends on Saturday, September 6, 2025, from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. at Waite Funeral Home, 765 N. Court St., Medina, OH 44256.
