Joseph John
Sapara
July 18, 1941 – December 6, 2025
Beloved husband, father, and "Papa," Joseph John Sapara passed away on December 6, 2025, at the age of 84. Born on July 18, 1941, in Cleveland, Ohio, Joe was the son of the late Joseph and Marie (Petrick) Sapara.
Joe dedicated 39 years of his life to Fastener Industries, where he rose to the position of Plant Manager. Known for his reliability, leadership, and work ethic, he took great pride in providing for his family and setting an example of commitment and perseverance.
A passionate Cleveland sports fan, Joe cheered loudly for the Guardians and Cavaliers, but nothing brought him more joy than watching his grandchildren play sports. If one of the kids was on the field or court, Papa was in the stands.
In retirement, Joe and Linda fully embraced the good life — enjoying time at their Florida condo, boating, and traveling. They especially loved cruising, from Alaska to the Caribbean, always ready for the next adventure.
Joe was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Linda (Sauerbrei) Sapara, with whom he shared a life full of love, laughter, and partnership. He was also preceded in death by his grandson, Josh. His memory will be cherished by his loving children, Cheryl (Steve) Downs, Lisa (Mark) Kowalski, Joe Paul (Linda) Sapara, Debbie (Bill) Cash, Dawn (Paul) Herron, and Linda Jo Silagy; treasured grandchildren, Stacey (Jeff), Stephen, Stephaney (Patrick), Cody, Cory, Kyle (Mallory), Colin (Melissa), Kayla, Casey, Noah, Colby, Connor, and Colton; and adored great-grandchildren, Kenton, Kensley, Kolson, Brantley, Kennedy, Oakley, Baylor, Remi, and Sterling.
Joe was known affectionately as "Papa Trouble," a nickname that captured his playful spirit and ability to stir up just enough mischief to make life more fun. He will be remembered as a devoted family man, a loyal friend, a proud grandfather, and a steady presence whose quiet strength and kindness will be deeply missed.
The family will welcome guests from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at Waite Funeral Home, 3300 Center Road, Brunswick, OH. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00 am on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 16271 Pearl Road, Strongsville, OH. Joe will be laid to rest at Resurrection Cemetery in Valley City.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in Joe's memory.
