Joy Marie Lukacs, 68, of Medina, Ohio, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2025. Born in Cleveland
to Robert and Judy, Joy lived a life filled with compassion, strength, and devotion to others. Joy was a woman of remarkable intelligence and a vibrant, strong personality. She earned her master's degree in art therapy and dedicated her career to working with children and families, helping them heal and grow through the power of art. She had a gift for making people feel at ease, and she was the person so many turned to for comfort, wisdom, and understanding.

More than anything, Joy treasured her role as a mother and grandmother. Her love for her family was endless, and she filled their lives with warmth, encouragement, and laughter. She was also deeply devoted to animals, rescuing many throughout her life, and she shared a special bond with her beloved dog, Lola. Joy's Jewish faith was central to her life and spirit, guiding her with love, grace, and strength. She welcomed everyone with an open heart and embodied a rare kindness that touched all who knew her.

Joy was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Lukacs; her parents, Robert and Judy; and her brother, James. She is survived by her children, Nicholas Kuznik (Dana Kuznik), Carly Kuznik, Hannah Lukacs, and Coco Lukacs (Stefan O'Brien); her grandchildren; her sisters Lisa (Al) and Kyle; her brothers Brian (Sue), Brett (Kim), and Eric (Emily); and numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom will carry her memory in their hearts.

A memorial service to celebrate Joy's life will be held on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, from 4:00–6:30 p.m., with a time of sharing at 6:30 p.m., at Waite and Son Funeral Home in Medina, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, Joy's family requests that donations be made to the Leukemia Research Foundation, honoring her wish to support others through hope and healing.
