Judith E. 'Judy' Thomas, 83, of Medina, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 22, 2026, surrounded by her family. Judy was born on August 15, 1942, in Akron, Ohio, the daughter of the late Robert and Violet (Smith) Nehrenz. Violet passed away at a very young age, and she was raised by her second mother, Hazel Nehrenz.

Judy grew up in Sharon, Ohio and moved to Medina in her junior year of high school, where she met the love of her life, Bob Thomas. She and Bob married on November 23, 1962, in Medina.

She was very active over the years with March of Dimes and Jay Cees. Judy was a realtor for over 30 years, winning realtor of the year, and owned her own real estate company, as well as JET Concepts.

Judy coached her daughter's softball team. She enjoyed golfing and dancing with her husband, watching the Cleveland Indians, working in her flower beds, and attending her grandchildren's sporting events. She also loved the annual family vacations to Pymatuning and spending time on the water on the family pontoon boat.

She not only created a loving family, but also a warm loving home for holidays and family game nights, which she always looked forward to.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Vivian Farber; brothers; Robert, Arthur, Gerald, Roy, and Dennis Nehrenz.

She is survived by her husband, Bob Thomas, with whom she shared 63 years of marriage; children, Carrie Capiot, Shaun (Jerrilyn) Thomas, Michelle Ferguson, and Lori (Larry) Ward; grandchildren, Krista (Jason) King, Lance (Hope) Capiot, Lindsey (Caleb) Siman, Kalyn (Chris Branham) Ferguson, Jake Ferguson, and Hannah (fiancé Brach Edwards) Clemens; great-grandchildren, Jayden King, Blair Siman, Ashton Branham, Skylar Capiot (Due in July) and Baby Siman (Due in September); and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 29, 2026, from 11 – 1 pm at Waite Funeral Home – Medina Chapel. The funeral service will be held at 1 pm.
