Karl George Honigman, 73 years old, of Seville, Ohio, passed away on July 30, 2026 with his family at his side. He was born on January 27, 1953, in Garfield Heights, Ohio to the late Robert Norman and Marion Cathryn (Sacha) Honigman.
Karl was a dedicated mechanic whose strong work ethic, knowledge, and willingness to lend a helping hand earned the respect of everyone who knew him. Outside of work, he truly came alive being outdoors. He had a lifelong passion for fishing, hunting, trapping, beekeeping, gold prospecting, gardening, and fly tying. Whether he was tending to his garden, spending time in the woods, on the water, or caring for his bees, Karl found peace and happiness in nature. He especially cherished sharing those passions and the knowledge that he had gained over the years with family and friends. He was always eager to share all his gear, tools, furs, and supplies that you were interested in.
Karl spent hours researching and trying new recipes. He helped his children learn new techniques and skills in the kitchen. He loved to share the food that he made with everyone. No one went home hungry when they came to visit.
He loved spending time with his family. Even working third shift, there was not a practice or a game that he would miss. He loved cheering on his children and grandchildren from the sidelines at baseball, softball, and soccer games as a coach and as their number one fan.
His circle of friends was wide, and his friends and neighbors became an extension of his family giving him a true sense of community. If anyone ever sat down with Karl, you would know that if you had a story, he had an experience to share.
Above all, Karl was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, coach, mentor, and friend. He will be remembered for his quiet strength, kind heart, generous spirit, and unwavering love for his family. The lessons he taught, the memories he created, and the love he shared will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Deborah Ann (Zidones) Honigman; children Matthew (Anita), Mark (Elizabeth), Dawn, Bethany (Brian) Porter, Heather (Jared) Garrison, Rachael, Luke (Keri), Rebecca (Robert) Izzo, John, Daniel (Katelyn), and Heidi (Caleb) Miller; grandchildren Cheyenne, Drake, Grace, Olivia, Kenedy, Michael, Mackenzie, Connor, Harper, Isabelle, Eleanor, Giovanna, Apollonia, Paisley, Lane, Carter, and Madelynn; and great grandchild, Athena.
Family will receive friends on Monday, August 3, 2026, from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Waite Funeral Home, 765 N. Court St., Medina, OH 44256.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Parish, 60 High St. Seville, Ohio with Mass of Christian Burial following at 11:00 a.m. He will be laid to rest at Mound Hill Cemetery.
