Obituary

Katherine Ann Bollay, age 75, passed away January 28, 2026, in Athens, Alabama. She was born on March 11, 1950, in Pasadena, California, to Eugene and Virginia (Lindt) Bollay.

Katherine was an international flight attendant with United Air Lines for 38 years, a job that took her around the world and showcased her care and concern for others. She loved cooking international meals, watching Hallmark movies, sailing and traveling. She was known for her kindness, warmth, and gentle spirit, remaining friendly and loving even through her health challenges. She will be forever loved and deeply missed.

Katherine is survived by her cherished companion of nearly 20 years, Dr. Frederick Bigenho, Jr.; her son, Justin (Lori) Bollay, of Texas; her grandchildren, Juliana and Mason Bollay and Brayden and Kylie Ross; her great-granddaughter, Avery Lueras; and her brother, Robert (Ann) Bollay. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Barbara and Suzanne; and her brother, Johnny.

Visitation will be held Thursday, February 12, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm at Waite Funeral Home, 3300 Center Road, Brunswick, Ohio, with a short service beginning at 12:30. Katherine will be laid to rest at Hope Memorial Gardens in Hinckley, Ohio.
