Katherine June Luneke, age 82, passed away on December 16, 2024, in Brunswick, Ohio. She was born on September 7, 1942, in Dayton, Ohio to the late, Theodore and Georgiana (Hoke) Hampton. Katherine loved animals, especially birds and her cats.  She was an avid puzzler and always seemed to have a new one started ready to challenge herself and friends.

A kind and gentle person with a truly sweet soul, she was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend who actually lit up in their company. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her daughter, Christy A. (Jim) Korkan; her son, Michael E. (Lori) Luneke; 3 beloved grandchildren, Kaitlyn Rapp, James R. Korkan, and Karelyn 'Kaely' Korkan; her 2 precious great grandchildren, Owen Crankshaw, and Nora Crankshaw; her sister, Doris Chatterton, and a lifetime of dear friends.

Katherine is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 39 years, Jack Lynn Luneke, her parents, Theodore and Georgiana (Hoke) Hampton, and her twin sister, Judy Jones.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Katherine's memory be made to your favorite animal shelter in her name or Kitten Krazy Rescue, 930 Lafayette Rd, Medina, OH 44256.

As per Katherine's wishes she will be laid to rest with her beloved husband, Jack Lynn Luneke at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville, Ohio on Monday, December 23, 2024, at 12:30p.m. friends are welcome and encouraged to attend.
