On a cool January 18, 2024, morning, Kathleen "Kathie" A Hanna, was released from her earthly body to be reunited with God in heaven and her family and friends who have passed before her. She was born in Cleveland February 20, 1943, to John and Adeline Senft. She was welcomed by her older sister Jacqueline "Jackie" Senft Roda. She spent her childhood with her parents and Jackie in Broadview Heights, Ohio. She attended Brecksville High School and graduated in 1961. After graduation she attended Kent State for a year prior to joining her husband John "Jack" Svoboda, in Dover, Delaware, while he served in the United States Air Force. Delaware is where their daughter, Bridget A Mulcahy, was born. After moving back to Ohio, Jack and Kathie were blessed with two sons, Eric J Svoboda and Brian J Svoboda. After raising her children, Kathie later returned to Kent State where she received her Baccalaureate in Nursing, and worked as a Registered Nurse at Kaiser Permanente until her retirement in 2005. Kathie enjoyed travel, the theatre, her church, selling Avon, being a Girl Scout leader, camping, scuba diving, and teaching swimming lessons at Sleepy Hollow Country Club—where she spent many summers with her children and lifelong friends. Many friends have passed before her, but her friend, Mary Bowers, was faithful with very frequent visits to Kathie, even when Kathie could no longer participate in their shenanigans and other activities, due to debilitating Parkinson's Disease. Kathie enjoyed her life serving others and being surrounded by her family and friends.

Kathie was preceded in death by her parents, John and Adeline Senft, and her sister, Jacqueline Senft Roda. She is survived by her children, Bridget Mulcahy (Dennis), Eric Svoboda, Brian Svoboda (Amber); daughter-in-law Beth Jordan (Kent); grandchildren, Evan Mulcahy (Sarah), Lauren Mulcahy Gauger (Benjamin), Michael Mulcahy (Lauren), Liam Mulcahy, Emi Mulcahy Dougherty (Maxwell), Keri Svoboda, David Svoboda (Danielle), Greg Svoboda (Kayla), Kelly Svoboda, Jenna Svoboda Knirschild (Mitchell), Kaila Svoboda Schafer (Jacob) and Jared Svoboda. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Bennet and Kyler Gauger, Austin, Maximus, Logan, Lillia, and Kallie Svoboda.

A celebration of Kathie's life will be held in her honor at a later date.
