Kenneth
Finowski
November 25, 1939 – January 24, 2026
Kenneth Finowski, age 86, of Hinckley, passed away on Saturday, January 24, 2026. Born on November 25, 1939, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Stephen and Jeanette (nee Stolarski) Finowski, Ken was raised in Old Brooklyn and graduated from Brooklyn High School in 1958. He proudly served in the United States Air Force and later as a member of the Bricklayers Local 5 in Cleveland for 33 years before retiring in 2000.
Ken was an athletic and competitive individual who played quarterback in high school, played softball for many years, and enjoyed league bowling. He was a passionate outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, boating, fishing, and golfing, and in his later years became quite the gardening guru. Always an avid Cleveland sports fan, he also took great joy in sharing his love for hunting, fishing, golfing and the great outdoors with his grandsons and son-in-laws. Ken's favorite pastime was scratching lottery tickets!
Ken is survived by his wife of 61 years, Joanne (nee Turchan); his children, Carrie (Bob) Towslee, Cindy (Kevin) Arthur, Mary Jo Nunnari, and Chuck Finowski. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Jessica (Patrick) Bunetta, Michael (Megan) Towslee, Justin (Mackenzie) Arthur, Kyle Arthur, Rachel (Roger) Muresan, Alex (Devin) Nunnari, Dylan Nunnari, and Aiden Finowski; and his four great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Paisley, Layla, and Levi. He was also a dear uncle to many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Don and Bob; sister-in-law, Helen Finowski; niece, Kimmy (nee Finowski) Schwarz; and nephew, Steve Finowski.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 1st, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Waite Funeral Home, 3300 Center Road, Brunswick, Ohio. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 2, 2026, followed immediately by a committal service at Resurrection Cemetery in Valley City, Ohio.
