Kevin Daniel
Holler
Nov 6, 1983 — Jul 21, 2020
Saying goodbye to one of the good guys is hard, and Kevin Holler was the best of them. We lost Kevin in a tragic boating accident and he passed away surrounded by his family and friends on July 21, 2020.
Kevin was one of those people who it felt impossible to be unhappy around. Born a triplet, he came into this world a built in best friend and playmate to his two brothers. A wrestler growing up, throughout his life it was impossible to not find Kevin continuing to grapple and rough house with anyone, young or old. Kevin was a hardworking and giving son, always willing to lend a helping hand or give the shirt off his back (which is maybe why we found him bare chested so often). Kevin met the love of his life in high school, and from their first 'date' at the Valley City Street Fair in 2000, Kev knew Courtnay was the one. He was a devoted husband to Courtnay, and they had the kind of love we all envy. Kevin was a graduate of Buckeye high school, Mount Union College, and most recently the Medina County Law Enforcement Academy with plans to serve and protect his community. Kevin worked as a corrections officer at the Medina County Sheriff's Office, and even while going to the police academy and working nights, he always managed to find time for his family and friends. Kevin's most important role was that of a father, he was everything to his two children. He was their best friend, daddy and hero who taught them how to be tough and have fun.
Kevin was a man of all seasons. As an avid hunter and fisherman, he found a way to incorporate camo into almost every wardrobe. Rarely bothered by sleeves in the summer, you could find Kevin playing with his children, tossing a line in a pond or starring in a karaoke duet. Kevin was always there with a story or witty one liner and had the ability to make every person he met feel like an old friend.
Kevin will be lovingly remembered by his wife and soulmate, Courtnay, and his beloved children Hadley and Hunter; his parents, Karen and Kevin; his grandmother Mary Jane McKenzie; brothers, Kyle (Amanda) and Kory (Jessica); his parents-in-law Faye and Paul Schumacher; his sisters-in-law Lindsey (Brandon) Stricklett, Brittany (Matt) Hirt, Melody Schumacher and brother-in-law Evan Schumacher; He will be fondly remembered as the cool uncle by nieces and nephews, Sophia, Grant, Carson, Gavin, Logan, Mitch, Hazel, Jack, and Beau. He will live on in the stories told by a lifetime of cherished friends.
He is preceded in death by his Grandpa Russ McKenzie, his Uncle Bob Clymer, and Grandparents, Clayton N. and Patricia Holler.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family fundraiser to help support Courtnay, Hadley and Hunter. https://gf.me/u/yg5fv9
The family will receive friends Friday, July 24, 2020 from 2 to 8 p.m. at Waite Funeral Home, 765 N Court St., Medina, OH. Masks are required at the funeral home due to the covid19 health crisis State Mandate order.
