Ladimer A. Kristof III, age 82, of Brunswick Hills, Ohio, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2025. Born August 16, 1943, in Cleveland, Ohio, Laddie was the son of the late Ladimer A. and Margaret (Gretchko) Kristof, Jr. He worked for AT&T (previously Ohio Bell and AmeriTech) for more than 55 years, retiring in 2020 after a long and respected career. He was also a proud veteran of the US Army Reserves.
Laddie's memory will be cherished by his beloved wife of more than 36 years, Janis (Benesch) Kristof; children, Rachelle (Marty) Hippler, Bryan Kristof, Jennifer (Andy) Hoffmaster, Jayson (Stephanie) Zadzilka, and Jaime (Scott) Haumasser; and grandchildren, Emma Zadzilka, Nathan Zadzilka, Drew Hoffmaster, Colton Hoffmaster, Ellie Hoffmaster, Julia Haumesser, and Owen Haumesser. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ladimer and Margaret Kristof, Jr.
Laddie will be remembered for his calm and steady presence, meeting life with quiet strength and an even temperament. He held a lifelong love of cars, especially Mustangs and classic muscle cars, and spent many fulfilling hours working with his hands. His crowning automotive achievement was the complete rebuild of his beloved 1970 Buick Skylark Gran Sport, a project that reflected both his skill and his pride. Laddie also enjoyed gardening and maintained a large vegetable garden with raised beds he built himself. In earlier years, he shared many camping trips with his family, and in quieter moments, he collected vintage postcards, reflecting his appreciation for history and simple beauty.
A Memorial Service will take place at 10:00 am on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at First Lutheran Church of Strongsville, 19419 Royalton Road, Strongsville, Ohio. Laddie will be laid to rest at Hope Memorial Gardens in Hinckley, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to one of Laddie's favorite charities: Guide Dogs for the Blind, Polycystic Kidney Disease Foundation, or the Foundation Fighting Blindness.
