Larry E. Milam, 85, of Columbus, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2025.  He was born on January 9, 1940, in Itmann, WV to the late Roy and Ora (nee Wilson) Milam.  Larry was a teacher for many years for Teays Valley Public Schools in Circleville, OH.   He was also a lifetime student himself, earning his bachelor's degree from Marshall University and Master's and Doctorate Degrees from The Ohio State University.  Larry was an avid reader, could speak fluently in French and he loved spending time in Paris.  Most of all, he was a very generous and giving person who spent many days volunteering in his free time.

He is survived by his brother Ken Milam, brother-in-law Donald Shaffer, nephews and niece Mike Shaffer (Jeannie), Brian Shaffer (Kyra), Heather Dietz (Dave), and Nick Milam, as well as many other family members and friends.  He is preceded in death by his sister Janice Shaffer.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at Waite Funeral Homes, Brunswick Chapel, 3300 Center Road, Brunswick, OH 44212, from 4-5:00 pm with a Celebration of Life to follow at 5:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests planting a tree in Larry's memory.
