Lawrence "Larry" J. Kolin, age 75, of Brunswick, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 19, 2026. Born on July 6, 1951, in Cleveland, Ohio, Larry was the cherished son of the late Charles "Chuck" and Wilma Kolin.
A lifelong resident of the area, Larry served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, where he earned multiple Service Award Medals in recognition of his bravery and dedication. Larry's commitment to service extended beyond military duty; for over two decades, he faithfully worked as a custodian for the Parma City Schools. He also devoted many years as a volunteer firefighter with the Brunswick Hills Fire Department, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to the community he loved. In his leisure, Larry found joy in fishing, hunting and gardening, nurturing both flowers and vegetables with the same care he offered to those around him. He was a man of simple pleasures, whose kindness and warm spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Larry is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Louise "Jackie" Kolin, who passed away in 2025, and his brother, Chuck Kolin. He leaves behind a loving family, including his son, Brian (Dee) Kolin; his siblings, Marilyn Landy, Virginia Joachin, Beverly Lockwood, and Douglas Kolin. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom cherished his presence in their lives. The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday, July 27, 2026, from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Waite Funeral Home - Brunswick Chapel. A graveside service, with Army honors, will follow at 12:15 PM at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, located at 10175 Rawiga Road, Seville, Ohio.
