Lawrence Thomas
Mcclure
May 24, 2022
Lawrence "Larry" "Red" Thomas McClure, 81, of North Royalton peacefully went home to the Lord early Tuesday morning, May 24, 2022, with his children by his side and in the comfort of his home. He was born June 8, 1940 in Cleveland, Ohio to Lawrence C. and Helen K. (Klimo) McClure. Larry married Lotus (Bowman) in 1960. They moved to Brunswick, Ohio where they lived and raised their three children. Larry was known for his love of laughter, being a practical joker and spontaneous vacations. He loved to take his family camping, fishing and to every amusement park he could. His greatest joy was finding ways to help family and friends.
Larry took great pride in his work as a machine repair machinist for 47 years at General Motors in Parma. He was the second generation "Red McClure" in the GM family. He received many awards for improvements in safety and production. Later in life, he reconnected with longtime friend, Mary Scharf, who became his close companion and dear friend. They enjoyed watching local sports teams, dining out and many trips to the casinos. Survived by his children, Laura McClure, Lawrence Alan (Debbie "What's her name") McClure and Mark McClure; sister, Margaret (Edward) Nemec; sister-in-law, Ann Marie; nieces and nephew, Mary Ann McClure, Jennifer (John) Werba and Edward (Emily) Nemec; grandchildren, Lawrence Andrew (Jes) McClure, Stephanie (Ryan) Blanc, Brandon (Salem) Arbogast, Brittany (Steve) Arbogast, and Sophia LaRosa; step-grandchildren, Doug Wilkinson, David (Danielle) Wilkinson and David "Curtis" (Danielle) Reece; beloved great grandpa to Charlie, Lawrence Gryffin, Logan, Lilyana, Bryant and Harper; step-great grandchildren, Austyn "Little Red," Brooklynn, Carter, Douglas, Adison, Alex, Madison and Gavin. Proceeded in death by his parents, Lawrence C. and Helen McClure; and brothers, James McClure and Charles McClure.
