Leonard George Guk, age 86, peacefully passed away on Friday, May 20, 2022, at 2:45 pm. The eldest of four children, he was born January 26, 1936, to George and Susie Guk in Cleveland, Ohio.

In the 8 th grade, he decided to leave school, and with his mother's signature, enlisted in the United States Navy at age 17. He was assigned to the USS Randolph as a radio operator working with the US Air Force and served during the Korean War.  His travels took him to Korea, Iceland, and all around the world. He was a skilled instructor, training Coast Guard personnel. At one time, he was in charge of a Pacific fleet. Although he traveled throughout all the oceans, his favorite was the Pacific Ocean. He loved fishing, gardening, and target shooting. In later years, he worked as a security guard for the City of Painesville.

Leonard could be found at the local VFW halls reminiscing about his past. He loved boats, the water, and reading his magazines from the NRA, Veterans of Foreign Wars, etc. He helped as many as he could, toiling in his garden, only to give it all away.

Leaving behind his sister, Sonia "Sunny" Snyder; his brother, Lawrence Stephen (Christina) Guk; and deceased brother, Eugene Guk, he quietly slipped away. He also leaves behind nephews, Freddie, Micheal, Russell, George, Jeffrey, Christian, Sebastian and Joshua; and nieces, Kimberly, Barbara, and Sandy. He was also grand-uncle to too many to count, including Ante, Izidora, Ashtin, Allessia, Bethany, Jullian, Emily, and several more. Blessings to all.

Leonard is known for his "fair to middlin" condition when asked. He loved trying different foods , especially seafood, ordering daily catches of lobster, shrimp, cod, scallops, etc. The Navy life never left him. He was always aware of his surroundings, and would often comment, "Can't people just be kind?" Bon voyage, Lenny – The Family
