Leonarda M. "Leona" Sopiecha, 99, entered into eternal rest on February 16, 2026.

She was born in Cleveland on November 10, 1926 to Joseph and Josephine (Skura) Sklarz.

Leona is survived by her children, Susan Graham, Phyllis (Albert) Boulton and Daniel (Marsha) Sopiecha; grandchildren, Kelly, Brittany (Justin), Ryan, Brandon (Melissa) and David; great-grandchildren, Joey, Lily, Mia, Reagan, Eliana, Esme, and Roman.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Andro; her parents; and siblings, Jeannette, Edward and Mickey.

Leona was a long-time member of St. Ambrose Parish in Brunswick and retired from the Brunswick Police Dept. as a receptionist/dispatcher after 10 years of service. She enjoyed garage saling, visiting Las Vegas with Andro, and spending time with her family.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 pm, Friday, February 20, 2026, at Waite Funeral Home, 3300 Center Rd., Brunswick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am, Saturday, February 21, at St. Ambrose Parish, 929 Pearl Rd., Brunswick. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Valley City.
