Lloyd A. Vaughn, age 83, passed away on November 19, 2024, in Naples, Florida. He was born on June 20, 1941, in Berea, Ohio, to the late Harold L. and Velda Grace (Finley) Vaughn.  Lloyd attended Bowling Green University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism and double majors in both advertising and public relations. His lifetime career in the Insurance industry spanned over 40 years before retiring in 2003. While employed in the insurance industry he was instrumental in starting the following companies:

• Lance Special Agency, Inc, 1989 (Excess & Surplus Lines Broker)
• Autohio – Medina County 1989 ( Special Risk Auto Insurance)
• Lance & Co, Leasing, Inc. 1989 ( Vehicle and Equipment Leasing)

He served his country as part of the United States Army Ohio National Guard.  An avid golfer, he enjoyed playing as much as possible over the years where he cultivated many friendships and colleagues. He also enjoyed boating and scuba diving with his beloved Vivienne across the Caribbean and as far as Indonesia for 40 years.

A prominent member of the Medina business community, he was the Medina Jaycees President, 1969; Medina Area Chamber of Commerce President, 1981; and past President of United Way of Medina. A member of the Masonic Lodge #58/Ohio 20th Masonic District Worshipful Master, 1972, Grand Lodge of Ohio District Deputy Grand Master, 1976-1978. Past officer of Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite - Valley of Cleveland. Chapter advisor, Medina Order of DeMolay, 1963-1965. Kiwanis Club of Medina, Boy Scout Troop 509, Scout Master 1968-1973. Ohio National Guard, 1966 – 1972. United Church of Christ Congregational, Endowment Committee, 1996. Medina City Schools Foundation, Trustee

His numerous awards included the Distinguished Service Award (Young Man of the year, 1975). While Lloyd was working in the insurance industry, he was the recipient of the prestigious Paul Revere Award for excellence in insurance. Lloyd was elected to the Kiwanis Club of Medina Hall of Fame in 1988. And the highlight of Lloyd's business career was being inducted into The Greater Medina Chamber of Commerce Hall of Fame in 2018. He spent most of his adult life championing and serving the Greater Medina Community and was beyond honored to be recognized for his efforts.

For all of Lloyd's business achievements, he always considered himself a lucky man. His crowning personal achievement was always his family. Lloyd was married to the love of his life, Vivienne Louise (Smith) Vaughn for 60 years, both she and their son, Keith Vaughn, made his life complete.

The family will receive friends to celebrate Lloyd's life on Monday, November 25, 2024, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at United Church of Christ, Congregational, 217 E. Liberty Street, Medina, Ohio 44256 with a service immediately following at 11:30 a.m.
