Obituary

Louise V. Wiatrak, 85, of Brunswick, passed away June 17, 2026. She was born in Cleveland on July 17, 1940, to Louis and Margaret (Sadowski) Konopka.

Louise is survived by her husband of 64 years, Thomas; daughters, Linda (Steve Kravec) Hennis and Laura (Patrick) Icardi; grandchildren, David (Annie), Steven (Megan), Zach (Keely), Sarah (Matthew), and Jacob (Taylor); great-grandchildren, Claire, Sydney, Jake, Hannah and Elise.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Louise was a devoted member of Brunswick United Methodist Church. Her love for her family has always been the driving force in her life. She married her high school sweetheart, Tom, and together they shared a marriage that lasted for 64 years. They enjoyed traveling and making new friends in many different countries. Her unending support for her children and grandchildren was evident in the attendance of nearly every event they participated in. In addition to her family, her love extended to her many cats that she loved throughout her life.

Louise started her career as a registered x-ray technician and worked at Southwest General Hospital until she transitioned to working as an MA for Dr. Charles Hoyt. When he retired, his practice was purchased by University Hospitals with the understanding that Louise was part of the deal. She finished her MA career working for Dr. Robert Blankfield. During her years as an MA, she touched many lives and cared for the patients as if they were friends and family because to her, they were. She will be dearly missed.

Visitation will be held from 10-11 am, Friday, June 26, 2026, at Brunswick United Methodist Church, 1395 Pearl Rd., Brunswick, followed by a Memorial Service at 11 am. Online condolences and memories may be left for the family at www.WaiteFuneralHome.com.
