Lynell H.
Wethern
Oct 12, 1958 — Apr 22, 2024
Lynell "Lynn" Hope Wethern, age 65, passed away on April 22, 2024, in Medina, Ohio. She was born on October 12, 1958, in Lakewood, Ohio to the late William Charles Young, III and Hope Ellen (Willcox) Young. She loved camping and spent her spare time crafting- especially sewing and baking. She worked at the former Hawkins Market in Medina and All-Around Children Daycare in Strongsville where she poured out kindness, patience, and love. But above all, she cherished spending every minute she could with her family and friends. She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Lynn courageously fought cancer for nearly three years. She maintained her trademark optimism throughout and remained an inspiration to all who knew her. "This is not how you wanted things to go," said longtime friend Connie Hange. "More than anything you wanted to win this fight, and you held your own for a really long time, but God had other plans. We are all so proud of how you waged this war in the same way you lived your life; with passion, style and grace. Your all-welcoming smile never dimmed, your infectious laugh still rang out. You continued to seek new adventures with Mike, your beautiful daughters and extended family. Even in the fight for your life, you lived your life to its fullest. May we who love you honor you by striving to live our lives with the kindness and grace you always had. So rest well in His loving arms. We love and miss you always."
Lynn is survived by her loving husband of almost 48 years, Michael David Wethern; daughters, Erin Grafton (Alan) and Jennifer Laub (Evan); siblings, Gary Young, Rick Young (Judy), Laurie Young -Moon (Rory), Carole Disbrow (Kathy), Bill Disbrow (Brenda) and Michael Disbrow (Rita); sister-in-law Rosemary; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws; along with a lifetime of collected friends and of course, her beloved dog, Charlie.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her brother, David; and her cousin, Laura "Lolly" Bogdonsky.
The family will hold a Celebration of Lynn's Life on May 11, 2024, at 1p.m. at the Medina Eagles Aerie #2224, 696 Lafayette Road, Medina, Ohio 44256.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Lynn's memory would be gratefully appreciated by the Medina SPCA, 8790 Guilford Road, Seville, Ohio 44273.
