Maria Boettcher passed away peacefully on May 5, 2026, at the age of 92. Born on October 7, 1933, Maria lived a life defined by her devotion to God and serving others. She was a woman of prayer whose hospitality was a light to all who knew her.

Maria was reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband, Richard Boettcher. They shared 52 years of marriage, building a life centered on hard work, family and faith. She was also preceded in death by her parents and her 6 siblings.

She is survived by her four children: Ron Boettcher (Jolene), Darlene Fladda (Rainer), Debbie Heck (Manfred), and Rick Boettcher (Lynn).

Her legacy of love continues through her extended family:

The Fladda Family: Grandchildren Steve (Laura) with Lucas and Philipp; Dan (Angelica) with Lorenzo and a new baby due in October; Christian (Paige) with Peyton and Reid; and Kelsey (Scott) with Davis, Jolie, Miller, and a new baby due in September.

The Heck Family: Grandchildren Jaclyn (Jonathan) with Eloise, Winston, and Lucy; Jessica (Andrew) with Trevor, Eliza, and Levi; and Justin (Leah) with Henry and Louisa.

The Boettcher Family: Grandchildren Brandon (Alyssa); Ryan (Alexandria) with Ryder; Jason; and Erin.

In total, Maria’s memory is cherished by 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, with two more expected to join the family later this year.

Maria found great joy in the simple beauties of life; she spent many years working in the garden, filling her home with the warmth of her cooking and baking, and in her later years, slowing down to enjoy reading books. She was deeply loved and will be missed, but her memory will never be forgotten as her family continues to cherish the beautiful legacy she left behind.

Maria’s family will welcome guests from 2:30 to 4:30pm on Monday, May 11, 2026, at Waite Funeral Home, 3300 Center Road, Brunswick, Ohio, with a service beginning at 4:30 pm.
