Marian Grace Swansinger, 94, of Brunswick, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2026.

She was a wonderful and kind woman who touched the lives of all that befriended her. She blessed everyone with her warm smile and kind words of encouragement and compassion. Marian loved to play cards, visit with friends, and spend time with family. She was very proud of her family and hosted many joyful family gatherings.

Marian was born on a farm in Lodi, Ohio. She grew up in Cleveland and attended Jane Addams High School. Marian loved the school and her classmates and was active in the Jane Addams Alumni. She married the late John James Swansinger in 1952. They moved to Brunswick in 1957. Together they raised five children. Marian organized volunteers to reach out to people in the community to support Red Cross Bloodmobiles. After her children were grown, she worked at the Brunswick Sun Times and as a bookkeeper for Vetoviz and Norton Homes.

Marian was a long-time active member of St. Ambrose Parish. She was a proud member of the St. Ambrose Women's Guild. Marian was the lead organizer for funeral luncheons at St. Ambrose for many years.

Marian would drop everything to help when needed. She loved her grandchildren and enjoyed attending numerous sports activities, events, and dance shows. Marian also loved gardening, cooking Polish dishes, baking, sewing, and playing games.

Marian and John shared a love of travel and made many trips in the United States and around the world. They were married for 56 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents George and Mary Ratajczak and siblings Robert (Helen), Bernard (Winifred, Rita), and Barbara. Marian is survived by her children Phillip (Ginger) Swansinger, Barbara Price, Carolyn Marchie, Lora Swansinger, and John (Lisa) Swansinger; her beloved grandchildren Megan (Jason), Jason (Elizabeth), Rachael (Charlie), Daniel (Grace), Andrea, Allison, Aza, Harper, Seneca, and Spencer; and great grandchildren Lucy, Dahlia, Elliot, Daphne, Pepper, Miles, Pixie, Marin, Arlo, Aubrey, June and Wade.

The family thanks you for your love, prayers, and support. They would like to send a special thanks to the staff at Grace Hospice for their help and support over the past three years.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 28th, 2026 at 11:00 AM, at St. Ambrose Parish; 929 Pearl Road, Brunswick, OH. Family greeting will be at 10:00 AM on the same day at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Marian's memory to the St. Ambrose Women's Guild, the City Mission Laura's Home, or the Red Cross.
