Marie J. Longacre, age 93, passed away on June 3, 2025, peacefully at home. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio on January 7, 1932, to the late Ethel and John Vislavsky. Marie graduated from John Hays High School in Cleveland, Ohio. She went on to a career in Accounts Payable and worked for several different companies over the course of her working life. She finally retired from Penton Publishing in Cleveland after twenty years of service in 1990. She was also a homemaker and enjoyed sewing, cooking and music. Music was one of her favorite hobbies and she was an avid piano and organ player. She researched Music Theory and developed a teaching program called Spin-A-Chord. Marie was a long-time member of United Church of Christ Congregational. Marie along with Jim were members of many community organizations in Medina.

She is survived by her two children, Deborah (John) Stuart, and Brian (Beverly) Franko; 4 stepsons, Daniel (Carol) Longacre, Richard (Shelly), Dr. Steve (Stacey), Dr. Michael Longacre; her sister, Patricia (Tony) Stopek; her sister-in-law, Beatrice Vislavsky; 4 grandchildren, Michael, Joshua, Sarah, and Harry; and 2 great grandchildren, Piper and Nico; along with numerous step grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 24 years, James Longacre; her parents, Ethel and John Vislavsky; her sister, Ethel Sokol; and her brother, John Vislavsky.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Waite Funeral Home, 765 N Court Street, Medina, OH 44256 with a funeral service immediately following at 11:00 a.m. Marie will be laid to rest at Spring Grove Cemetery in Medina next to her husband, James.
