Mary Ann
Andrews
May 2, 1936 – July 9, 2024
Mary Ann (Booth) Andrews, age 88, of Wadsworth, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at The Village of St. Edward Wadsworth. She was born on May 2, 1936, to the late Charles and Ruth (Frederick) Booth in Weirton, WV. Mary Ann was a proud 1954 graduate of Medina High School.
While working at a dental office, one Saturday afternoon she met the future love of her life, Harold Joseph "Joe" Andrews during a discussion about getting together to watch an Ohio State football game. They married on September 14, 1957. After spending a few years in Columbus, Cincinnati & Milford MA, Mary Ann and Joe returned to Medina in the Fall of 1973 to raise their young family. She was a member of The Medina United Church of Christ Congregational (UCC) and a member of Kings Daughters International (I Believe Circle). Mary Ann loved to travel and was grateful for her many excursions, her favorites being the British Isles, Hawaii and several trips to Colorado visiting her sister. She also treasured time spent with her grandsons and their activities while watching them grow up.
For years in the 1980s while working at the Medina McDonald's Mary Ann was affectionately known as "The Drive Thru Queen". She later spent several years as a receptionist at the Medina County Human Services Building on Northland Drive. Mary Ann was most proud of her decades long work for the Medina County Board of Elections as a Poll Worker on Election Days.
Mary Ann is survived by her two sons, Michael (MaryBeth) Andrews of Wadsworth and Robert (Lucy Garvin) Andrews of Stow; her two grandsons, Tyler (Columbus, OH) and Anthony (Parma, OH); her sister, Judi (Rick) Jenkins (Falcon, CO); and many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family & friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband of 43 years, Harold Joseph "Joe" Andrews; and her brother, Gerald Booth.
The family wishes to extend special thank you to the staff and management at The Village of St. Edward Wadsworth for their outstanding care and concern during the years she resided there, as well as Northeast Ohio Hospice for their comfort & care over the past few months.
