Mary Joanna Jamerson

Mary Joanna Jamerson, 70 years old, of Medina, Ohio passed away on October 19, 2026. She was born on April 22, 1956, in Medina, Ohio to the late Will Rogers Wells and Magnolia (Kelley) Jamerson.

After graduating from Medina High School, Mary Jo earned her associate degree at the University of Akron. She worked as a dedicated executive office manager for Rubber City Radio group for 34 years before retiring in 2022.

Mary Jo was known for her gentle spirit, kind heart, and compassionate nature. Her love for the Lord was at the center of her life, and she joyfully shared her faith with everyone she met. Music was another of her greatest joys, as she loved singing at church and with the group JOY. She was especially proud to have sung the National Anthem at Jacob’s Field on two occasions. She treasured time spent visiting with her beloved nieces and nephews and her Godson and nephew Bobby Neal II. A devoted Cleveland Guardians fan, she loved watching the games and talking baseball with family and friends. Each year, she cherished visiting with her classmates from Medina High School’s Class of 1974. Above all, she will be remembered for her unwavering faith, beautiful voice, and the warmth, kindness, and love she so freely gave to all who knew her.

She is survived by her sisters Regina Jamerson Neal and Carolyn Renee Wells; nieces Barbara Neal Roose and Tonya Neal Simon (Cedric); nephew Bobby Neal II; great nieces Samantha Stanley (Stephen), Abigail Roose and Sade Simon; great nephew Kai Proce (Cassidy); great-great nephew Zion Simon; a host of relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 27th, 2026, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Waite Funeral Home, 765 N. Court St., Medina, OH 44256. Visitation will also be held on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at MAG Church, 830 Lafayette Rd., Medina, Ohio. Funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. at the church, followed by burial at Spring Grove Cemetery, 785 E. Washington St., Medina, Ohio.
